October 11: Teddy Boys' support should be kiss of death
Driving around town the past couple of days, I've seen signs which read "Wahby supports Ahearn and Troester".   But,  of course Ted Wahby supports Ahearn and Troester!

For those of us who have lived in this community a long time the surprise would be that he WAS NOT SUPPORTING THEM.   Teddy Boy and his Committee for Responsible Government (read you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours) has hitched his political horse to Ahearn and Troester and  the reason for Wahby's support is plain and simple:

EVERY PUPPET MASTER NEEDS PUPPETS and in Ahearn and Troester Teddy Boy has two ideal puppets to go along with the others now sitting on council:  Bev McFadyen,  Ron Frederick, and of course, Bob Hison.

In my opinion, there is not one decision which this Puppet Council makes which has not first run through the Ted Wahby machine...from which contracts get awarded to which professional service this city uses, to when and when not to start scaring citizens with threats of 'cuts to services"...(and that will be coming as soon as the next Police and Fire Millage is up for "renewal.")

His PAC, Committee for Responsible Government is a big donor to candidates who will do the bidding of Teddy Boy.  And, Teddy Boy has made no secret that he might consider running for County Executive should we be so stupid as to approve that office in this election.

In reading the literature sent out by Ahearn and Troester, there is no mention, OF COURSE, of Ahearn's past escapades, including  walking out of city hall with a check and almost dropping the "F" word at a council meeting, misleading the public about the possibility of a lawsuit should we change garbage vendors .... being unable to make a profit in a city owned building with little to no real overhead... and on and on .... and  there is no mention, OF COURSE, of Troester's retirement from the city with a pension that you and I can only dream of....and no mention of why, if elected, he will by charter NOT BE ALLOWED TO VOTE on matters regarding the very police and fire pensions upon which the  council has already decided to ask the state legislature to do 'something' about via resolution.  Troester cannot be an effective member of city council and will only be another rubber stamp on issues upon which he will be allowed to vote....so remember the no-bid contracts, the lack of an firm ethics policy ... the eternal demand that we taxpayers pick up more and more of the tab so that city employees can enjoy their retirements with a taxpayer funded pension and health benefits....remember that when you're facing foreclosure, or have lost your OWN PENSION and HEALTH CARE BENEFITS BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, REMEMBER THAT WHEN YOU VOTE IN THE ELECTION.

Too, I'm voting NO on the Charter -- imagine a county run by Teddy Boy and his Gang -- and almost everyone in current county government is a "Bonior Baby" -- whose idea of fiscal responsibility is first to guarantee wages and benefits to their buddies and second, to raise our taxes to pay for them.   Teddy boy has said  that he would be interested in the job.  Of course he would.  A county executive, in my opinion, will be provide nothing more than a taxpayer funded well from which people like Teddy Boy can draw to reward their co-horts and no matter how much they collect in taxes and in "fees" it will never be enough.

By the way, is there a 'disclaimer' as required by law on these signs?  From the road, it's hard to tell, but if there isn't someone is violating Campaign Finance Law.

So for me,  having Ted Wahby's support is the "kiss of death"  and I can only hope there are enough in this city who feel the same way.
