July 21, 2009: You decide
Much of what happened at last night's city council meeting will be spun in different ways by different people. Frankly, I don't care one way or another, but if you are truly interested in what actually happened -- at least during the meeting which was aired -- then I suggest you watch it yourself.
As for what happened in the hallway after wards , suffice to say that the "Useful Idiot" Duane and I exchanged words when he called ma a liar, I suggested that his head was buried so far up a particular part of the Mayor's anatomy that I was surprised he could still breathe and suggested he get out of my sight.
Frank Troester, who came out following Duane, suggested I calm down and that he'd like to talk to me. He said I could call him anytime. I told him if he wants to talk to me, I'm in the book and that he should caution a female supporter of his who is going around talking trash about some of his competition. Twice in the last two weeks, I have heard this woman -- a big lady with short blondish hair -- talking some of the candidtes in the most unflattering terms. It is an old tactic here in town, when you can't go after someone on their positions, you attack them personally. Frank denied knowing who she was and asked for a name. Told him I didn't have one, but was told that she was either a police officer or former officer.
Ken Podolski told me I was not going to be arrested and when I asked if I could leave, he said that I could. That is the only reason I left. I would have gladly waited had Mr. Podolski told me I had to.
Mr. Podolski also suggested that he knew that I did not "like" him. I told him I liked him just fine that what I was talking about had nothing to do with "liking" someone, but everything to do with ethics. Fortunately, I was able to contact my attorney and halt him in his almost mid-night ride to the police station.
Ken said that he could send me all sorts of information from other municipalities which do the same thing we do -- as if that somehow takes the stench off. I told him to go ahead, but that pig is still a pig.
There will be lots of she/said, he/said in this incident. I am not necessarily proud of myself for losing my temper, but as I said in my other column, sometimes you just get tired of all the bulls**t!
