If yIfIf you're upset over the election of Obama and the direction he's taking the country, if you are going through hard economic times, if you you're lost your job, if you're upset with all the 'social engineering and spending', if you believe you have a First Amendment right to bear arms, if you disagree with (illegal) immigration, or have problems accepting abortion on demand, then you're a Rightwing Extremist, according to a Department of Homeland Security report issued in February to various law enforcement agencies through the country in February. The report was prepared by the DHS with cooperation of the FBI.

The scariest part of this 'report' is not the stuff being reported on Fox, though that too came from footnote in the report.

The scariest part is this footnote on page 2: Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.

Please note as you read the full report, no mention is made of 'left wing extremist' (The Weather Underground, for example.. does Obama's old buddy Bill Ayers ring a bell?) which should clearly point out to you that this 'report' is not about anything other than stifling the voices of millions of Americans who are fed up with the crap being foisted on them and worse, will be used to try to silence those who oppose the policies of the federal government. It sets the stage to use the powers of the federal government to subvert state authority. (See April 17 column.)

Don't be fooled. This is not a 'benign' report. It is not an "assessment" as Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said today from Mexico, it is an accusation. Napolitano defends report
